Let's forgive Mel Gibson and get on with it ...
Okay, I am both a news junkie and a liberal. And let me tell you ... a lot of liberals are acting like crazed madmen right now over the statements that Mel Gibson allegedly made while being arrested for drunk driving.
If said, they are surely ugly words, but he has also made some statements since that incident that we should also hear and to which we should listen.
He has apologized. Can he do more? He is a believer in the same Lord and Savior that I trust will forgive me (already paid for on the cross!) and I know what Jesus has asked me to do. The word is "forgive!"
Whether the Jewish community believes that Passion of the Christ was anti-Semitic or not is not at issue -- although I personally found that movie to be both moving and as true to the words of the Bible as one could make it ... without it being even more gruesome to watch.
I also do not believe that "alcohol is a truth serum," which was alleged by some in Hollywood this past week.
I watched Jackie Mason on Neil Cavuto's news show (yes, I watch Fox News in general) and thought that some of what Jackie Mason said to be on target: "... all these people are getting a vicious, sick, perverted, sadistic thrill out of this whole thing [attacking Gibson] ... it's an excuse, a rationalization ... [an] excuse to bury this guy because they're enjoying it with such a sick perverted pleasure."
Hollywood has been the worst about it, I think, and their products are hardly a sign of their credibility.
Let's get on with life. There are wars going on and our energies should be directed at ending the two most damaging of them in the Middle East ... rather than dissecting the words of a person whose blood alcohol count was 1.2 at the time.

I may be a liberal, but agree that we sometimes can be the worst!
