Of interest worldwide ... Tigers beat Yankees three games to one!

The caption under the picture says it all. Of course the American League Pennant is still to come as is the World Series, but today's 8-3 win has made three brothers (one in the state of Connecticut and one in the state of Washington -- plus one closer to Detroit ... right in the state of Michigan) very, very happy. If Rumsfeld was in some way responsible for this victory, he's forgiven. If it was George Bush, may he be president forever. On one thing, Republicans and Democrats fully agree: the Detroit Tigers are Heaven's team on earth!

Of course, we're talking about baseball -- kind of like cricket for those of you in Europe, but with greater skill and intelligence required to play and also a little like soccer (you call it "football," I believe) except that we use a bat and a smaller, much harder ball, have bases, use gloves and for which stolen bases, strike outs, home runs, sacrifice flies and double/triple plays are all part of the game. Baseball is really a sport for highly intelligent and tough adults, I suppose. Soccer is good for children, but baseball is for men! Heh, heh ...

And oh yes, the New York Yankees are like the team from Hell. Mostly Republicans, I think, but none are Eisenhower Republicans, I don't think.
