Is this really necessary?

Excuse my French, but this project really pisses the hell outta me!

The photo above shows where we stand today in the construction of the now famous $600 million U.S. Embassy in Baghdad--with everything from fast food restaurants and swimming pools for the staff that will (someday) reside and work there. And oh yes, the $600 million needed to build the crazy thing is only half of what its annual operating costs are expected to be.

The prime real estate is sufficiently large to hold 80 football fields--a great target for the insurgents who are probably waiting for a ripe time to bring this latest Tower of Babel down.

Interestingly, it's scheduled for opening in September, just in time for the Pentagon "progress report" on the war ongoing at its gates.

And please note that not a single one of the Democrats or Republicans running for President has even made mention of this boodoggle--the dumbest idea in this whole stupid war/occupation.

This is the first time I've heard of it. What an incredibly dumb project. Can't believe it isn't getting more press.

That's what I thought when I first learned of it on Air America about a week ago. Where are the Democrats when you need them? Where is the outrage?

Yeesh!

Joe
