Joe Lieberman wasn't simply on 'Face the Nation" this morning; he wants to MACE the Nation ... Iran, that is!

My brother Richard in Connecticut shares his homeland (Connecticut) with the likes of Senator Joe Lieberman who really went out on a dangerous limb today.

"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Mr Lieberman told those of us watching CBS before church this morning. And he went on, "and to me that would include a strike over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people to kill our soldiers."

Wasn't it only last month that we began talking with the Iranians to avoid exactly the kind of Holocaust that Mr. Lieberman is suggesting we kick off?

I wonder if Mr. Lieberman has thought through his suggestion to the point of the impact of an attack on Iran on, say, the Shi'a fighting the Sunnis in Iraq. If I were a GI patrolling the streets of Baghdad this morning, I'd be shaking in my boots ... wondering exactly how much influence this clown in Connecticut has on his friends in the White House.

And meanwhile, our carriers and submarines with nuclear-tipped missiles continue to operate in the Persian Gulf (a.k.a. the Arabian Gulf in the more Arab leaning capitals throughout the Middle East).
