What do these four prominent black "Republicans" have in common?
Well, for starters, my brother in Connecticut suggested to me on the phone that he believes that, push come to shove, they will back Barack Obama, the most left-leaning Democrat that the Democrats could have selected.
Hmm ... I wonder why ...
It's really very scary that prominent black pro-life conservatives might show such hypocrisy as to support a fellow black ... on the basis (seemingly) of the color of his skin.
And just what will they say when they stand before the LORD in that great day? How will they feel as they confess, "LORD I voted to kill millions of babies and support homosexual marriage because of the skin color of the Democrat candidate for President!"

UPDATE:
Alan Keyes has left the Republican Party over the party bosses' determination that McCain would be the candidate, no matter what the people want.
Dr. Keyes is now an independent candidate for president, and in some states, as America's Independent Party.

I've had the pleasure of listening to Alan Keyes discuss the danger we as a people face, in part because Obama is one of the awful choices to emerge from our major parties. The notion that Alan Keyes would vote for Obama seems ignorant or malicious.
I support Alan Keyes decision to continue to run as an independent candidate for President. I was talking with a fellow who told me McCain was 10,000 times better than Obama. I read another fellow saying that O = zero. I think when you put them together, they're both right. And 10,000 times zero is still zero.
Keyes is probably best known for being the most eloquent pro-life advocate. I've come to appreciate that he has more hands-on executive foreign policy experience than any of the other candidates. He was right in the thick of Reagan administration national security policy-making. The economy will quickly mend after Keyes becomes President, because his plan to totally abolish the federal income tax will unleash economic productivity like we've never seen before.
Thank you both. A little more research on my part would have certainly made clear that Alan Keyes (whom I admire also--like you) would/could never support a pro-choicer (embryo killer) such as Barack Obama.
Hopefully, pro-life blacks will not vote the color of their skin, but rather against the obvious wrong notion that abortion is a "legitimate" means of birth control (a.k.a. Roe vs. Wade).
Thank you both!
