Bush might really surprise us in October! I'm an optimist and a dreamer ...

Let's stop all of this silliness about Bush's "October Surprise" to steal the elections and agree that if he were to announce that he planned to bring our boys and girls home from Iraq soon ... we wouldn't mind a Republican sweep in November.

Admittedly, I haven't the courage to put a black ribbon like the one at the upper left on my car -- my proximity to Fort Lewis would probably kick my life insurance up by 150%! But that (bring 'em home now!) is exactly what Kathy Kelly (upper right) is suggesting and she has courageously fought for so, so many unpopular causes in the years before and since she was nominated for a Nobel Peace prize -- not just once, but three times!

Her story is worth reading and I'll let you do just that at the link provided here.

As for what the actual "October Surprise" might be, I am still optimistic to some degree. I see the possibility of Dick Cheney stepping down -- probably already agreed upon between the White House and Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald -- and certainly something that Karl Rove could easily have a hand in and remember ... it was Rove who promised the Republican faithful "an October surprise" only a month or so ago.
