If this blog ends on August 22, 2006 ... you'll know why!
My brother, Richard from Connecticut, called to ask me if I had read the latest Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal written by President George W. Bush's favorite historian, Bernard Lewis. I had to confess my ignorance -- I didn't even know that Bernard Lewis was a Professor Emeritus at Princeton and regarded as the world's top historian on matters of the Middle East.
I assumed that he was one of Paris Hilton's latest boyfriends and blushed when my brother explained to me just who Bernard Lewis (below) is. I was impressed! [But he still looks a little like one of Paris Hilton's boyfriends.]
Anyway, it turns our that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has set August 22 as the date that he would respond to our "deadline" for a response on his nuclear ambitions -- actually, we asked that he state that he was discontinuing any nuclear development that could lead to nuclear weapons by the "end of the month." The end of the Islamic month just happens to be 22 August, which also happens to be the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427 -- which, by Islamic tradition, is exactly 2500 years after Ezekiel wrote of a future Middle Eastern war that would "annihilate Israel" -- called the "War of 'Gog and Magog'."
Aha! Now, we understand (a tiny bit anyway) why Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (below) made such a ridiculous (we believe) prediction that Israel would be "wiped from the map."But what is disturbing is that, as I read the Op-Ed article from the WSJ, Lewis is making it clear that he sees the possibility that Mahmoud Ahmadinejerk is actually planning a "cataclysmic" attack to begin either on or shortly after August 22, 2006.
Were the activities of the terrorists in England (resulting in today's "event" in England -- the arrests of between 21 and 24 Pakistanis) only a ploy or was it a test of what is to come in two or three weeks?
Just rename "Mediawingnuts" to National Inquirer.
