Bush says that Iraqi people voted against their ongoing Civil War ... Huh?!?
"I hear people say 'Civil war this, civil war that,' " Bush said at a news conference at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. "The Iraqi people decided against civil war when they went to the ballot box."
Well, if that's the case, then what did we (Americans) vote for when we voted in Abraham Lincoln a century and a half ago?
And I was able, thanks to the Internet," to see a translated ballot used in Baghdad (admittedly there were many different ballots). Guess what? There wasn't a single referendum against a civil war!
No, President Bush, we are not responding to the Iraqi voters when we go on and on about the civil war in Iraq; we are responding to statements made by General Peter Pace (left), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff along with General John Abizaid (below, right) senior general for all of the Middle East made only last week at the Congressional hearings -- you remember, the ones wherein your Secretary of Defense replied, "My Goodness" to Senator Clinton's demolition of his failed policies in one of her best ("prepared"-yes!) statements ever ... and now, as recently as yesterday, General Casey (below, left), your uniformed general on the scene in charge of the operations in Iraq said that the conflict in Iraq is sliding into a civil war!
They are the ones who are stating that your damned war (excuse the expletive!) is devolving into a genuine civil war between Sunnis and Shiites. Listen to your father! Listen to your senior generals! Listen to the Reverend Billy Graham! Take off that damned (excuse the expletive again, please) earpiece hooked to Donald Rumsfeld or Dick Cheney ... only for a minute. Listen, sir, to the American people! Were you even aware of a primary election in Connecticut yesterday?
