U.J. On a broader terms stop trying to be Mr. Smooth and actually have a little passion and forget 'selling' anything with 45 million people without insurance. NOTE to the Smooth One: YOU WON; STOP TRYING TO SELL ANYTHING TO THAT OLD TIGHTY-WHITEY CHARLES GRASSLEY! He ain't buying ANYTHING IN YOUR FULLER-BRUSH KIT, O MAN! gem (SORRY I FEEL PASSION ABOUT MEDICARE FOR OLD POOCHES)
If you would read (oops, excuse me, Gem), you would see that I am rooting for universal health care and Medicare for all does have a "private option."
It's not looking good in either house today, but with old pooches (those over eight years old) putting their paws in the pudding, we may have a chance.
Watch out for jurists, attorneys and that special "breed," legal beagles.
A rather long article for an old f*** like your dad, but I read it and understood most of it. Problem isn't me; it's the gaggle of persons out there with NOTHING--i.e., no voverage.
Medicare is hardly a panacea, but it picked up 99% of my recent abscess surgery and i was VERY SATISFIED with the treatment and care.
I know many who are unemployed and don't even go in for a check-up since they aren't 65 yet.
Actually, the article addresses the gaggle of uninsured by recommending that they be covered by the govt. if they can't afford to insure themselves. The end of the article is where he lays out specific recommendations. It's radical, but makes sense. Worth the read.
Yeah! Now your talking socialized medicine which I fully endorse and always have. The hospitals should be owned by the government in the same manner as roads and highways and available to both private doctors and those working for the Govenment Medical Association--probably at a higher rate of pay than most Federal civil servants, but you get the idea.
Unfortunately, only about 25% of the people would buy the idea and a smaller percentage of Congress.

ouch,
These big thoughts hurt my head. Can't we talk about Michael Jackson's Doctor?

Like Freddy Corleone said, "I'm smart." Its just that my brain implodes with issues bigger than Joan Rivers' plastic surgery.
