Had enough?

My brother, Richard from Connecticut believes that this might be the "killer" bumper sticker and slogan for Democrats in both 2006 and 2008. Two more powerful words than "Had Enough?" cannot be said or displayed during the upcoming political seasons, he suggested. Even living in the same state as Joe Lieberman, my brother was right on target with that suggestion.

And now, having finally completed my read of Ron Suskind's book, One Percent Doctrine (tough read, but thorough and written in a compelling manner), I picked up James Carville's 2003 book, Had Enough: A Handbook for Fighting Back (photo of cover above) -- and it's a total 180 degree flip from Suskind's book. Light, but still a powerful and enlightening read!

That said, I would only like to pass one very powerful little piece of humor from Carville's Had Enough wherein the truth makes you either want to laugh or cry after reading it.

James Carville was giving a lecture in some (non-specified) state and opened with, "You know, back in 2000, a Republican friend of mine warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched. You know what? I did vote for Al Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true!"

Had enough? I certainly have!

Interesting blog name. Is it half of an SOS?

In answer to your question: no, not if we are but the paper on the bottom of the cage with the likes of the "golden" birds (Exxon, Haliburton, Bechtel, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, Enron, et. al. sucking from the bird-feeders filled with our tax monies.
