Uhhh ... Just in case it's in the back of your mind, Mr. Bush ...
Yeh, the above picture of ol' Fidel is probably doctored to make him look "well," more or less, but this isn't the time (before or after he leaves us) to invade Cuba.
Many of your neocon minders are probably putting such crazy thoughts in your head and they will have a plethora of arguments:
1. GWB will be known to have accomplished what JFK didn't at the Bay of Pigs.
2. Cuba has lots of sugar cane and could be "another Brazil" in the creation of bio-fuel (not oil).
3. It would be easy for the taking -- the people of Cuba hate Castro about the same as the people of Iraq hated Hussein -- before we invaded and botched the occupation.
4. Raul Castro has just (yesterday and today) mobilized "tens of thousands of reservists and militia" and thus, could be regarded as a threat to America.
5. (and most important) The Mid-term elections are in November and the timing would be just perfect, if the polls are halfway accurate.
Since Raul has been talking about normalizing relations with the US (he's been mouthing those words forever), maybe ... just maybe ... there's a better way.
But on one point we agree, Mr. Bush -- that picture of Fidel (above) is as phony as a three dollar bill.
I haven't checked this out with my brother, Richard from Connecticut yet, but your man, Lieberman looks like a sure winner in that state and you just might muddy the waters there with a preemptive attack on Cuba.
