First it's Libya ... then Japan ... then Sweetie's Tibia!

Sweetheart's Tibia (post-accident ... or whatever caused it)

And before you ask, no, I don't know how it happened!

Best guess of veterinarian is that she tangled one of her toenails (rear left foot) in one of my raggedy chairs or the rug and tried too hard to pull loose. She is/was a VERY strong puppy for her size.

Only good aspect of this is that she no longer has been chasing the cats.

That is so sad about Sweetie! How does she handle the day when you are at work?

Wow, that's a serious break! It's a good thing that dogs are resilient, and I know that she'll be getting a lot of TLC from her pops.

No F-ing way!! A tangled nail on a carpet? Give me a break! That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Sorry to be so hard in my opinion, but ... come on!

Thank you all! And you're right, Joe--especially since I keep all her toenails clipped. She has caught her cast on a thing or two--especially under the bed on that thin cloth and boards used to cover/protect the springs. But she wasn't wearing a cast or splint prior to breaking the leg.

I'm having a large rectangular frame made of 2X6's made and put under the bed today to keep both her and the cats out from under te bed.

She is 100% sweeter in all ways since the rejoining of the bones and the splint/cast. She lays her face across mine while we sleep--amazingly, we both fall asleep.

The cats are also concerned about her and give her a sandpaper kiss as they pass her hopping from here to there.

She sure is a sweet little dog. I hope she heals quickly, poor thing.
