Is it only me?
Is it only me, or does it seem strange to any others that only Al-Zarqawi's body was so clearly intact that his framed "death portrait" (my brother, Richard, noted his likeness to opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti in death) was ready to be posted only hours after his demise whereas the others in the (not so) "Safe House" were blown to smitherings? I was no lover of that butcher, Al-Zarqawi, but I suspect that Al-Qaida was equally pleased at the news of his demise and may even have been the "contacts" that provided us with his whereabouts.
Also, the "group of five terrorists" turned out to be only two women, one other man -- plus Al-Zarqawi's "spiritual advisor" -- and a five or six year-old girl. Not much in the news about that, was there?
As a former Chief Scientist with the USAF, I have ample knowledge of the explosive force of one, let alone two 500-lb bombs, and find his relatively unscathed face -- and news of his having actually lived through an explosion that caused a thirty foot deep crater -- rather . . . interesting.
