Lest we forget ...
Good grief, it's that anniversary again! What exactly did the "D" in "D-Day" signify? I've read or heard that it stood for "Disembarkment," but don't really know. In my war-gaming past, we used H-Hour and D-Day with the the "H" and "D" simply standing as nothing in particular. Only guessing, but I'll bet that the Army planners back in WWII used it in more in that manner since for more than six decades I've never heard or read anything definitive.
